James Cole

Assistant Professor of Counseling

Dr. Cole is an Assistant Professor of Counseling with primary teaching responsibilities in the School Counseling graduate program. With over 25 years in education and two decades of experience as a PreK–12 school counselor, Dr. Cole brings a practitioner’s insight to counselor preparation. His research interests focus on student advocacy, well-being, academic achievement, the effectiveness of school-based counseling interventions, and the social challenges of the digital environment. He enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.
